Tanner served in the United States Navy, where he held dual roles as Security Lead and Financial Analyst. This experience instilled in him a deep commitment to precision, accountability, and disciplined execution—values that define every aspect of Sunspot Medical Group. His military background taught him that details matter, that leadership is about serving others, and that the best decisions come from thorough analysis and unwavering integrity.

Medical Device Innovation & Clinical Expertise

Before founding Sunspot Medical, Tanner spent years as a Zimmer Biomet Sales Representative, focused on client acquisition and relationship management in the orthopedic sector. At Zimmer Biomet—one of the world's leading providers of musculoskeletal healthcare solutions—Tanner developed deep expertise in how advanced medical technologies navigate the path from manufacturer to operating room. He learned the complex landscape of clinical workflows, surgeon relationships, reimbursement mechanisms, and the critical importance of evidence-based solutions. This experience gave him insight into what healthcare providers truly need: not just products, but partners who understand their challenges and provide comprehensive clinical support.

Financial Acumen & Strategic Vision

Tanner's background also includes experience as a Financial Advisor at Transamerica, where he developed the analytical rigor that shapes Sunspot's business approach. He understands healthcare economics, reimbursement pathways, and how to build sustainable, evidence-driven business models in the medical device space.

Local Roots & Community Commitment

A graduate of New Mexico State University, Tanner understands the Southwest intimately. He is a devoted father, community member, and entrepreneur committed to improving healthcare outcomes in his home region. As founder of Sunspot Medical Group, Tanner brings together the discipline of military service, the expertise of corporate medical device innovation, and the passion of a local entrepreneur determined to make a difference.
